The School Day
There is no such thing as a 'typical' school week at Pitsford and we strive to keep learning experiences varied. Every day teachers seek opportunities to deliver learning in innovative and engaging ways (see our Twitter feed photographs for examples @PitsfordPrimary).
However, the school day broadly follows this structure:
8:50 |
The playground is open for children and parents. Members of staff are usually available on the playground in the morning |
9:00 |
The whistle is blown and the children line up in class groups. This is followed by them going in to class to have registration followed by morning lessons |
10:45 |
Break time. All children can eat a healthy snack brought from home |
11:00 |
Break time ends and the children line up before returning to their classes for more learning |
12:00 |
Lunch is eaten in two sittings or hot dinners are eaten in the hall along with some children who have packed lunches (Usually younger children first) Other children play first, then eat, then play again. If it is warm and dry then all packed lunch children have lunch at the picnic tables in the playground |
1:00 |
All children line up in the playground before return to to class to start their afternoon lessons and activities |
2:00 |
Assembly |
2:15 |
Afternoon break |
2:25 |
Children line up and return to class |
3:25 |
Class 1 end of day |
3:30 |
The school day ends, children are shown out on to the playground by their class teacher and handed over to parents or carers. Teaching staff and Mr Ayton are usually available on the playground at the end of each day. |
